About Us
Wine Safari
Relaxed, easy going and enjoyable with lots of information
I have spent over 20 years working in, and learning about, the wine industry. I started my adventure making wine at a vineyard in Constantia, South Africa. Since then, I have worked at vineyards in France and the UK, I have imported my own wine. owned a wine shop in Fulham and am now settled with my family in Devon and excited about bringing people along with me on my wine safari.
What will a wine safari entail?
· A relaxed and entertaining learning environment, where there are no ‘stupid’ questions or ‘wrong’ opinions – we all like different things!
· A fascinating exploration of the complexities of wine-making, starting with the impact of soil and climate.
· Great wines, of all types, and from a wide range of countries. Including the ‘Big Five’ (Red, White, Rose, Sparkling & Fortified)
· An experience you will, hopefully, be keen to repeat in order to continue your own adventure!
But don’t just take it from me, here are a few quotes to give you an idea of what to expect:
“We were taken on the tour by Jamie who I have to say went above and beyond to give us a truly amazing experience. He made the day perfect for us.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would as it was a perfect day and one I won’t forget.”
Afternoon tour
“Our afternoon lunch & wine tour was even better than I’d imagined. Jamie was so friendly, funny and knowledgeable - a huge credit to you.”
Saturday Tasting
"The way you did the tasting was relaxed, informative and just fun. You have a very chilled easy going way of presenting the tasting."

Courses & Classes
I run a variety of standard and tailored courses, please feel free to contact me for information or to discuss your requirements.
All courses are interactive and will leave you with a good knowledge of the subject area covered and a taste for continuing your own wine adventure.
Course topics include: A Beginner’s Guide; New v Old World; One day World of wine; and, Unusual grapes
Tasting
Let me take you on a Wine Safari where you will explore a variety of wines covering a particular theme or style.
Tastings can be held in a location of your choice and are great to enjoy with a group of friends at home, as a team-building activity with colleagues, or for a birthday or celebratory event.
Tastings can cover a huge range of wines but some of my favourites are: Sparkle Safari; Same grape different country; New v Old World; and, Big Five.
Blind Tasting
Delight your senses - explore a variety of wines as part of a blind tasting!
Disclaimer: Whilst this is an 18+ event, we only cover Red, White and Rose - there are no Grey’s, of any shade, and no blindfolds are used in this event: it’s the bottles that are covered, not your eyes!
These tastings are really fun events which can become quite competitive. By removing your pre-existing views, and prejudices, about certain types of wines, you are open to exploring what you really enjoy.
